Over 25 years ago, Holliday opted to upgrade to a fully integrated enterprise-level system for its then six ready-mix, rock quarries, and asphalt facilities. "Our system was antiquated and couldn't keep pace with the growing demands of the market," says John Holliday, President/CEO. "The order delivery to invoicing cycle used to take several days and involved multiple transfers of paperwork."

At that time, Jonel Engineering introduced an end-to-end enterprise dispatch solution, transitioning from traditional Microsoft/SQL backend to modern web technology, establishing Holliday as one of the largest suppliers of ready-mix, rock, and asphalt in California with over 30 plants operating statewide. Over the years, the platform has evolved from client-server to cloud computing, and Holliday has recently adopted Jonel’s AU 2.0 dispatch solution.

The switch to contemporary, innovative IT systems coincides with the transition from third to fourth-generation family management, and business expansion to serve new ventures in a population center now nearing 20 million. The Holliday family recognizes both the necessity and opportunity to extend beyond their base in the Inland Empire, which includes LA, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino counties, and more recently into Ventura, Kern, and San Luis Obispo. With natural materials depleting in the LA basin, Holliday is strategically positioned with reserves at their main aggregate operations in Upland, Colton, Palmdale, and San Bernardino, standing out among competitors with its vast resources and dedicated service.
